Fairley fourth graders explore shoreline, trails at Camp Hollis

Fairley Elementary School fourth-grade students recently embarked on an outdoor learning adventure at Camp Hollis, where they explored the natural world along the Lake Ontario shoreline.
During the hands-on field trip, students examined a variety of rocks and geological features found along the water’s edge, gaining a better understanding of how natural forces shape the landscape. Students also hiked the trails to study vegetation, identify plants, and observe the organisms that thrive in local habitats. The trip offered students a chance to apply classroom learning in a real-world setting while fostering curiosity, teamwork, and appreciation for the environment.
Teachers said the experience helped bring science lessons to life and encouraged students to think critically about ecosystems and conservation. Photo Caption A Fairley Elementary student breaks a rock along the shoreline at Camp Hollis during a recent field trip.
